「He said me…」台灣人最愛講錯的 say tell speak talk 差別

2026 07 29 en say tell speak talk Daily English |

Dialogue

場景:Lisa 剛接到房東的電話,下班後跟 David 面對面轉述通話內容,一路把 say、tell、speak、talk 用錯,David 隨口自然糾正她。

Lisa

Hey, guess what — the landlord just called about the leak.

欸,你猜怎麼著——房東剛打電話來說漏水的事。

David

Oh no, what did he say?

喔不會吧,他說了什麼?

Lisa

He said me the repair guy’s coming Friday morning.

他跟我說修理工星期五早上會來。

David

Wait — you mean he told you, right? Say doesn’t take a person directly.

等等——你是說他 tell(告訴)你吧?say 後面不能直接接人喔。

Lisa

Right, he told me that. Can you say me his phone number again?

對啊,他有跟我說。你可以再跟我說一次他的電話號碼嗎?

David

Same mistake — tell me, not say me. Say either needs ‘to’ before a person, or no person at all.

那句也該用 tell me——say 要嘛加 to 再接人,要嘛後面乾脆不接人。

Lisa

Got it. He also said he can only speak Japanese, so I need a translator.

了解。他還說他只會 speak(說)日文,所以我需要一個翻譯。

David

Makes sense — speak a language is always correct, no to needed there.

有道理——speak 接語言本來就對,不用加 to。

Lisa

Okay. He also said he wants to talk me tomorrow about the rent increase.

好。他還說想明天跟我 talk(聊)漲租金的事。

David

You mean talk to me, or speak to me — both need to before the person.

你是說 talk to me 或 speak to me 吧——這兩個接人前面都要加 to。

Lisa

Right, talk to me tomorrow. I keep mixing these up.

對,talk to me tomorrow。我一直搞混這幾個字。

David

Happens to everyone. Tell always needs a person, say usually doesn’t.

很正常啦。tell 一定要接人,say 通常不用。

Lisa

Got it. I’ll tell you everything if he calls again.

懂了。他再打來我會全部跟你說。

David

Perfect — that one’s actually correct!

完美——這句你講對了!

下次這樣說 Next Time

這三個場景最容易把 say、tell、talk 用錯,記起來就到位。

① 轉述別人跟你說了什麼

❌ 中文腦會說

He said me the repair guy’s coming.

他跟我說修理工要來了。(老外聽了會愣一下,因為 said 後面不能直接加人)

✅ 該這樣說

He told me the repair guy’s coming.

他跟我說修理工要來了。

為什麼:tell 才是專門「接人」的動詞,say 後面直接加人在英文裡就是不合文法。

② 請對方再說一次資訊

❌ 中文腦會說

Can you say me the address again?

可以再跟我說一次地址嗎?

✅ 該這樣說

Can you tell me the address again?

可以再跟我說一次地址嗎?

為什麼:只要動詞後面馬上接人、中間沒有介係詞,答案永遠是 tell,不是 say。

③ 邀約某人聊一件事

❌ 中文腦會說

He wants to talk me tomorrow about the rent.

他明天想跟我聊漲租金的事。

✅ 該這樣說

He wants to talk to me tomorrow about the rent.

他明天想跟我聊漲租金的事。

為什麼:talk 接人一定要加 to(或 with),漏掉這個字,句子在英文裡就站不住腳。

重點單字 Vocabulary Boost

say/seɪ/ 動詞

說出(內容)——重點在話語本身,後面接的是話,不是人。

Just say what’s on your mind.(有話直說吧。)

tell/tɛl/ 動詞

告訴(某人)——後面一定要接人,是唯一「不能省略人」的說話動詞。

Can you tell me the time?(可以跟我說現在幾點嗎?)

tell the truth/tɛl ðə truːθ/ 片語

說實話——tell 家族最常見的搭配之一。

I promise I’m telling the truth.(我保證我說的是實話。)

tell a story/tɛl ə ˈstɔːri/ 片語

講故事——同樣是 tell+人+事情的結構,人可以是任何聽故事的對象。

My grandma used to tell me a story every night.(我奶奶以前每晚都會跟我講一個故事。)

speak/spiːk/ 動詞

說(較正式)——常用在語言、正式場合、電話中。

Could I speak with the manager, please?(我可以跟經理說話嗎?)

speak to / speak with/spiːk tuː/ /spiːk wɪð/ 片語動詞

正式地跟某人說話,接人前一定要加 to 或 with。

I need to speak to you about the schedule.(我需要跟你談一下行程的事。)

talk/tɔːk/ 動詞

聊天、講話(輕鬆版)——是 speak 比較放鬆的親戚。

Let’s talk after the meeting.(我們開完會再聊。)

talk to / talk about/tɔːk tuː/ /tɔːk əˈbaʊt/ 片語動詞

跟某人聊、聊某件事——talk 接人一樣要加 to,接事情才不用加介係詞。

We talked about the rent increase for an hour.(我們聊漲租金的事聊了一小時。)

speak a language/spiːk ə ˈlæŋɡwɪdʒ/ 片語

說(某種)語言——speak 少數幾個可以直接接受詞、不用加 to 的場合之一。

He can only speak Japanese, so we needed a translator.(他只會說日文,所以我們需要一位翻譯。)

This is … speaking/ðɪs ɪz … ˈspiːkɪŋ/ 電話用語

電話中的「我是⋯」,接電話自我介紹時的固定說法。

Hi, this is Jason speaking. How can I help?(嗨,我是 Jason。有什麼我能幫忙的嗎?)

🎯 30 秒快速複習

say 說話語(不接人/加 to);tell 一定接人(不加 to);speak 語言/正式/電話;talk 輕鬆聊(接人要加 to/with)。

say 說話語,不直接接人
tell 一定接人,不加 to
speak 語言/正式/電話
talk 輕鬆聊,接人要加 to/with
tell the truth 說實話
speak a language 說某種語言
talk about sth 聊某件事
❌ say me → ✅ tell me

重點句型 Sentence Patterns

1. tell + 人 + 事 → 雙受詞句型,直接接人

tell 後面直接加人,中間不能有 to,人後面才接要告訴的內容。

例:Tell me what happened.(跟我說發生什麼事了。)
例:I’ll tell you everything.(我會全部跟你說。)
例:She told him the address.(她把地址告訴他了。)
判斷關鍵:動詞後面直接接人、中間沒有 to,就是 tell 的地盤,這是四個字裡唯一這樣用的。

2. say + (that) 子句 / say + 話語 → 說出內容

say 後面接的是「話語本身」,人如果要出現,一定要加 to,或者乾脆不出現。

例:He said (that) the repair guy is coming Friday.(他說修理工星期五會來。)
例:Just say what you mean.(想說什麼就直說。)
例:She didn’t say a word.(她一句話都沒說。)
想確認人有沒有出現在動詞後面,沒有就是 say;一定要接人的時候,加 to 再接人,或直接換成 tell。

3. speak + 語言 / speak to sb → 正式場合、語言、電話

speak 接語言時可以直接加受詞,不用加 to;但接人的時候,一樣要加 to 或 with。

例:Do you speak English?(你會說英文嗎?)
例:I’d like to speak to the manager.(我想跟經理說話。)
例:This is Mary speaking.(我是 Mary。)
想不到該用哪個字時,先想「這是不是比較正式、跟語言有關,或是電話場景」,符合就用 speak。

4. talk to/with sb about sth → 輕鬆對話

talk 接人一定要加 to 或 with,接話題用 about,語氣比 speak 更輕鬆日常。

例:Can we talk about this later?(我們可以晚點聊這件事嗎?)
例:I need to talk to you for a minute.(我需要跟你聊一下。)
例:They were talking with each other for hours.(他們聊了好幾個小時。)
talk 跟 speak 接人都要加 to/with,差別只在語氣——talk 比較輕鬆,speak 比較正式。

5. tell to me? / say me? → 常見誤用陷阱

最常見的兩個誤用方向剛好相反:tell 多加了不該有的 to,say/talk 卻少了該有的 to。

例:❌ Can you tell to me the address? → ✅ Can you tell me the address?
例:❌ He said me the news. → ✅ He told me the news.
例:❌ I want to talk you. → ✅ I want to talk to you.
記住這句口訣:「tell 直接接人,say/talk/speak 接人都要加介係詞」,四個字一次分清楚。

逐字稿 Transcript

J
Picture this — your landlord just called, and now you’re recapping the whole thing to a friend, face-to-face.想像一下——你房東剛打電話來,你下班後跟朋友面對面轉述剛剛講的內容。That’s exactly where Lisa gets stuck today, mixing up say, tell, speak, and talk, while her friend David catches every single slip.這集 Lisa 就是卡在這裡,一路把 say、tell、speak、talk 全部搞混,朋友 David 每次都抓到她的錯。
M
I’m Mary!我是 Mary! And honestly, this mix-up makes complete sense — Mandarin really just uses one flexible word for all of it, so English forcing four separate patterns can feel like overkill at first.老實說,這個搞混真的很合理——中文不管怎樣都用同一個字帶過,英文卻硬是拆成四套規則,一開始當然覺得很麻煩。
J
I’m Jason, and the good news is, each verb actually follows its own strict, learnable rule.我是 Jason,好消息是,每個動詞其實都有一套很明確、學得起來的規則。No random memorizing, just one clear pattern per word once it clicks — and we’ll give you a quick test for all four before we’re done.不用死背,弄懂邏輯就一次通——我們最後還會給你一個判斷小測驗。
M
Let’s start with say.先從 say(說出)開始。It’s about the words themselves, not the listener — you say something, not someone.重點是「話語本身」,不是「聽的人」——你 say 的是一件事,不是一個人。Take Lisa’s very first line: “He said me the repair guy’s coming Friday morning.”來看 Lisa 的第一句:「He said me the repair guy’s coming Friday morning.」
J
That me sneaking in right after said is exactly the error.said 後面偷偷跟著那個 me,就是問題所在。Say almost never takes a person directly — English just doesn’t build the sentence that way.say 幾乎不會直接接人——英文的句子結構根本不是這樣搭的。
M
David catches it instantly: “Wait — you mean he told you, right? Say doesn’t take a person directly.”David 馬上聽出來:「Wait — you mean he told you, right? Say doesn’t take a person directly.」And that one quick line flips us straight into tell, the verb Lisa actually needed all along.這句話一講,馬上就帶到 tell(告訴)——其實才是 Lisa 一開始就該用的字。
J
Tell is the one verb that’s actually built to take a person.tell 就是專門「接人」設計出來的動詞。Tell me, tell her, tell the class — you can’t say “tell” and stop there, English always wants to know who’s being told.tell me、tell her、tell the class——你不能講完 tell 就停住,英文一定要知道「告訴的對象是誰」。
M
Lisa almost has it.Lisa 差一點就抓到重點了。She says, “Right, he told me that,” which is perfect — but two sentences later, she slips right back into the exact same trap.她說:「Right, he told me that」,這句完全正確——結果兩句話之後,又掉回一模一樣的陷阱。
J
She asks, “Can you say me his phone number again?”她問:「Can you say me his phone number again?」Same mistake, brand new sentence — proof that even right after a correction, the old pattern can sneak straight back in.同樣的錯誤、換了句話講——證明就算剛被糾正過,舊習慣還是會偷偷跑回來。
M
He corrects her again: “Same mistake — tell me, not say me. Say either needs ‘to’ before a person, or no person at all.”David 又糾正她一次:「Same mistake — tell me, not say me. Say either needs ‘to’ before a person, or no person at all.」That’s really the second half of the whole rule.這其實就是整條規則的後半段。
J
You can say something to someone — that part’s grammatically fine, just less common in casual speech.say something to someone 這種講法文法上沒問題,只是日常口語比較少人這樣說。What doesn’t work is dropping straight into say me with no to anywhere in sight.真正行不通的,是直接講 say me,中間完全沒有 to。
M
So here’s the shortcut: if a person comes right after the verb with zero preposition, it’s tell.這裡有個簡單判斷法:動詞後面直接接人、中間沒有介係詞,就是 tell。If the sentence is really about the message itself, it’s say.如果句子講的其實是「內容本身」,那就是 say。Keep that one test in your back pocket, and half the confusion just disappears.記住這招,一半的困惑馬上就解決了。
J
Now here’s where it gets interesting — Lisa actually nails one without even trying.接下來有趣的地方來了——Lisa 居然不小心講對了一個。She mentions the landlord “can only speak Japanese,” and that’s a textbook-perfect use of speak.她提到房東「can only speak Japanese」,這句 speak(說語言)用得完全正確,像教科書等級。
M
Speak is the formal one, and it’s your go-to verb for languages every time — speak Japanese, speak English, speak three languages fluently.speak 是比較正式的那個字,講語言的時候永遠找它——speak Japanese、speak English、speak three languages fluently 都可以。Nobody says talk Japanese or say Japanese.沒有人會說 talk Japanese 或 say Japanese。
J
David points that out too: “Makes sense — speak a language is always correct, no to needed there.”David 也點出這點:「Makes sense — speak a language is always correct, no to needed there.」It’s one of the rare spots where the object just follows directly.這是少數幾個可以直接接受詞、不用加介係詞的例外情況。
M
Speak also shows up on the phone — “This is Jason speaking” — and in more formal settings, like “Could I speak with the manager, please?”speak 也常出現在電話裡——像「This is Jason speaking」——或是比較正式的場合,像「Could I speak with the manager, please?」It just carries a more polished tone than talk.語氣就是比 talk 更講究、更正式一點。
J
Which brings us to talk, the relaxed, chatty cousin of speak.這就帶到 talk(聊天)——它是 speak 那個比較輕鬆隨性的親戚。You talk to someone, or talk with someone, about something — it’s the verb for a casual back-and-forth, not a formal announcement.talk to someone 或 talk with someone about something,是日常閒聊用的動詞,不是正式宣布場合用的。
M
And this is exactly where Lisa trips a third time.這裡就是 Lisa 第三次講錯的地方。She says the landlord “wants to talk me tomorrow about the rent increase,” leaving out the to that talk absolutely needs before a person.她說房東「wants to talk me tomorrow about the rent increase」,漏掉了 talk 接人一定要有的 to。
J
David’s on it immediately: “You mean talk to me, or speak to me — both need to before the person.”David 馬上抓到:「You mean talk to me, or speak to me — both need to before the person.」Drop that little word, and the sentence just doesn’t hold together.少了那個小小的 to,句子在英文裡就站不住腳。
M
Lisa locks it in right away — “Right, talk to me tomorrow” — and honestly, that’s the whole trick: neither talk nor speak touches a person without to standing in between first.Lisa 馬上就抓住重點:「Right, talk to me tomorrow」——這其實就是全部的訣竅:talk 跟 speak 接人的時候,中間永遠都要有那個 to 卡著。
J
Quick recap before we replay — say skips the person or adds to; tell always grabs the person directly, no to allowed; speak and talk both need to or with in front of a person.重播之前先快速複習一下——say 可以不接人,或加 to 再接人;tell 一定直接接人,不能加 to;speak 和 talk 接人前面都要加 to 或 with。
M
Before you hear their whole conversation again, try this along with us — every time Lisa opens her mouth, guess whether she’s about to get it right, or trip over herself one more time.在你再聽一次完整對話之前,先跟我們一起做個練習——每次 Lisa 一開口,你就先猜猜看,她這次到底會答對,還是又要講錯了。
🔁 [DIALOGUE REPLAY] 重播情境對話
J
Okay, second listen — did you catch all three slips?好,聽第二次——你抓到那三個錯誤了嗎?Said me, say me again, and talk me tomorrow.said me、say me again,還有 talk me tomorrow。Three separate mix-ups, and David caught every one without missing a beat.三次不同的錯誤,David 每一次都馬上抓到,一次都沒漏掉。
M
What’s actually kind of impressive is that Lisa nails speak all on her own, with zero help.比較厲害的是,Lisa 完全沒人提醒,speak 那句就自己講對了。That tells you the truly tricky pattern here isn’t speak — it’s specifically say versus tell.這告訴我們,真正難的其實不是 speak,而是 say 跟 tell 這一組。
J
That tracks with the bigger gap underneath all of this.這剛好呼應了背後更大的語言差異。Mandarin uses one flexible word that never changes shape no matter what follows it, while English makes each of these four verbs gate-keep its own grammar.中文用同一個字打天下,不管後面接什麼都不會變;英文卻讓這四個動詞各自守著自己的文法規則。
M
That’s really the whole takeaway today — four verbs, four grammar patterns, and Lisa’s phone call happens to give you a live example of every single one, mistakes included.這集的重點濃縮起來就是——四個動詞、四套文法規則,而 Lisa 這通電話剛好把每一種情況都示範了一遍,連錯誤都示範得很完整。
J
So here’s your challenge this week: next time you’re recapping a phone call or a conversation, pause for one second and ask — is this about the person, or about the words?這週給你的挑戰是:下次你要轉述一通電話或一段對話的時候,先停一秒問自己——這句話講的是「人」,還是「話」本身?
M
If the person sits right there next to the verb, it’s tell.如果「人」就緊跟在動詞後面,那就是 tell。If it’s the message itself, it’s say.如果講的是「內容本身」,那就是 say。Simple test, and it’ll save you from every one of Lisa’s mistakes today.這個小測驗超簡單,能幫你避開今天 Lisa 犯的每一個錯。
J
Thanks so much for hanging out with us today — hope those four verbs feel a lot less tangled now.超級謝謝你今天陪我們這一集——希望這四個動詞現在感覺不再那麼糾結了。See you next time on MJ English!下次 MJ English 見!
M
Bye, everyone — and remember: tell the person, say the words!大家掰掰——記得喔:接人用 tell,說內容用 say!
