J: It’s the everyday stuff.
J:反而是那些日常的東西。

💬 中文翻譯
醫師: 嗨 Alex,我看過你的資料了。今天感覺怎麼樣?
Alex: 還可以啦,應該沒有什麼大問題。
醫師: 最近有什麼健康狀況讓你擔心嗎?
Alex: 沒有特別的,就是有時候會覺得累。
醫師: 那生活習慣呢?平常有運動嗎?
Alex: 老實說不多,工作幾乎都坐著。
醫師: 很多人都這樣,其實輕度運動就很有幫助了。
Alex: 像散步那種嗎?
醫師: 對,一天二、三十分鐘就很好。
Alex: 聽起來還可以做到。
醫師: 飲食方面呢?
Alex: 我會注意啦,但蠻常外食的。
醫師: 沒關係,稍微注意就好。
Alex: 好的。
醫師: 那我們量一下血壓。
Alex: 好。
J: Okay, so let’s break that down a bit.
J:好,那我們來稍微拆解一下。
J: The first thing that really stands out to me is how Alex answers that very first question.
J:第一個讓我特別注意到的,是 Alex 回答第一個問題的方式。
M: “How are you feeling today?”
M:「你今天感覺怎麼樣?」
J: Right. And Alex says, “I’m okay overall.”
J:對,而 Alex 回答說:「我整體來說還可以。」
J: That one word, “overall,” is so useful.
J:「overall」這個字真的非常實用。
J: It means, you know, in general or generally.
J:它的意思就是「整體來說」、「大致上」。
M: Yeah, it kind of manages expectations.
M:對,它其實有在幫忙管理對方的期待。
M: It’s not “I’m great,” but it’s not “I’m sick.”
M:不是「我超好」,但也不是「我生病了」。
J: And then they add, “nothing serious, I think.”
J:接著他又補了一句:「我想應該沒什麼大問題。」
J: It immediately tells the doctor, “Hey, this is just a routine check-in.”
J:這立刻就讓醫生知道:「這只是例行檢查而已。」
M: I also noticed when the doctor asks, “any health problems you’re worried about?”
M:我也注意到,當醫生問:「有沒有什麼健康問題讓你擔心嗎?」
J: A great phrase.
J:這是一個很棒的句子。
M: Alex says, “Not really.”
M:Alex 回答說:「沒有特別。」
M: It’s another one of those soft non-committal answers.
M:這又是一種很柔和、嗯、不太給死答案的回應。
M: It’s polite, but keeps it simple.
M:既有禮貌,又很簡單。
J: It does.
J:真的。
J: And then we get to the lifestyle part.
J:接下來就進入生活習慣的部分了。
M: Right. The doctor asks, “Do you exercise much?”
M:對,醫生問:「你常運動嗎?」
J: And instead of just “no,” Alex says, “Honestly, not much.”
J:而 Alex 沒有只說「沒有」,而是說:「老實說,不太多。」
M: Using “honestly” is such a good way to politely admit something.
M:用「honestly」來開頭,是一個很有禮貌地承認事情的方式。
M: It shows you’re being self-aware, you know?
M:這表示你對自己很有自覺。
M: And then comes the reason: “I sit a lot at work.”
M:接著他給出理由:「我工作時坐著的時間很多。」
M: That’s such a natural way to say you have a sedentary job.
M:這真的是表達「久坐型工作」最自然的說法。
J: And the doctor’s suggestion is great too.
J:而醫生給的建議也很棒。
J: Not “you need to go to the gym,” but just “light exercise.”
J:不是「你一定要去健身房」,而只是說「輕度運動」。
M: And Alex’s reply, “that sounds doable,” is just perfect.
M:而 Alex 的回應「那聽起來做得到」,真的很完美。
M: It’s so positive and simple.
M:既正面又簡單。
M: It means, you know, “I can do that.”
M:意思就是:「我可以做到。」
J: And the same thing happens with diet.
J:飲食的部分也是一樣。
J: Alex doesn’t say “my diet is bad.”
J:Alex 沒有說「我的飲食很糟」。
J: They say, “I try to eat healthy, but I eat out a lot.”
J:而是說:「我有試著吃得健康,但我很常外食。」
M: “Eat out.” Another great, common phrase.
M:「eat out」(外食),又是一個很棒、很常用的片語。
J: And finally, the doctor says, “Let’s check your blood pressure.”
J:最後,醫生說:「我們來量一下你的血壓。」
J: A very standard term.
J:這是一個非常標準的說法。
M: So it’s not just the words, it’s the sentence patterns here that are so reusable.
M:所以重點不只是單字,而是這些句型真的可以一直重複使用。
J: That opening question, “How are you feeling today?”—you’re always going to hear that.
J:那個開場問題「How are you feeling today?」,你一定會常常聽到。
M: And the follow-up: “Any [something] you’re worried about.”
M:接著的追問是:「Any【你在意的事情】?」
J: You could slot anything in there.
J:裡面可以放任何東西。
J: Right.
J:對。
J: “Any sleep issues you’re worried about?”
J:「有沒有什麼睡眠問題讓你擔心?」
J: “Any side effects you’re worried about?”
J:「有沒有什麼副作用讓你擔心?」
J: It’s so flexible.
J:真的非常彈性。
M: I really like “I try to” plus a verb as well.
M:我也很喜歡「I try to+動詞」這個句型。
M: “I try to eat healthy.”
M:「我有試著吃得健康。」
M: It shows you’re making an effort, even if you’re not perfect.
M:它表示你有在努力,就算你不是完美的。
J: It’s about showing intent.
J:這是在表達你的意圖。
J: And then the feedback phrase: “That sounds” plus an adjective.
J:然後是回應建議的句型:「That sounds+形容詞」。
M: “That sounds good.”
M:「那聽起來不錯。」
J: “That sounds difficult.”
J:「那聽起來有點難。」
M: Or in this case, “That sounds doable.”
M:或像這個例子:「That sounds doable。」
M: It’s such a quick and effective way to respond to a suggestion.
M:這是一個又快又有效的回應方式。
J: So when you put all these small phrases and patterns together, you start to see the bigger picture.
J:所以當你把這些小片語和句型全部組合在一起時,你就會開始看見整個大方向。
J:You don’t need perfect English — you just need the right, familiar building blocks.
J:你不需要完美的英文——你只需要正確、而且熟悉的語言積木。
M: Exactly. And once you have those, a doctor’s visit stops feeling stressful and starts feeling… manageable.
M:沒錯。而一旦你掌握了這些,看醫生這件事就不再那麼有壓力,而是會變得……可以應付。
M:You can actually focus on the conversation instead of panicking in your head.
M:你就能真正專注在對話上,而不是在腦袋裡一直慌張。
J: And that’s really the goal here — feeling calm, clear, and understood in real-life situations.
J:而這其實就是我們的目標——在真實生活情境中,能夠冷靜、清楚地表達,並且被理解。
